SHERIFF JOE IS AT IT AGAIN!
It dosen’t take rocket science to run a top violent crimminals jail, my hero is still sorting the men from the boys…

You all remember Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona , who painted the jail cells pink and made the inmates wear pink prison garb. Well………
Oh, there’s MUCH more to know about Sheriff Joe!Maricopa County was spending approx. $18 million dollars a year on stray animals, like cats and dogs. Sheriff Joe offered to take the department over, and the County Supervisors said okay.
The animal shelters are now all staffed and operated by prisoners. They feed and care for the strays. Every animal in his care is taken out and walked twice daily. He now has prisoners who are experts in animal nutrition and behavior. They give great classes for anyone who’d like to adopt an animal. He has literally taken stray dog s off the street, given them to the care of prisoners, and had them place in dog shows.
The best part? His budget for the entire department is now under $3 million. Teresa and I adopted a Weimaraner from a Maricopa County shelter two years ago. He was neutered and current on all shots, in great health, and even had a microchip inserted the day we got him. Cost us $78.
The prisoners get the benefit of about $0.28 an hour for working, but most would work for free, just to be out of their cells for the day. Most of his budget is for utilities, building maintenance, etc. He pays the prisoners out of the fees collected for adopted animals.
I have long wondered when the rest of the country would take a look at the way he runs the jail system and copy some of his ideas. He has a huge farm, donated to the county years ago, where inmates can work, and they grow most of their own fresh vegetables and food, doing all the work and harvesting by hand.
He has a pretty good sized hog farm, which provides meat and fertilizer. It fertilizes the Christmas tree nursery, where prisoners work, and you can buy a living Christmas tree for $6 – $8 for the holidays and plant it later. We have six trees in our yard from the prison.
Yup, he was re-elected last year with 83% of the vote…
Now he’s in trouble with the ACLU again. He painted all his buses and vehicles with a mural that has a special hotline phone number painted on it, where you can call and report suspected illegal aliens. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement wasn’t doing enough in his eyes, so he had 40 deputies trained specifically for enforcing immigration laws, started up his hotline, and bought 4 new buses just for hauling folks back to the border. He’s kind of a ‘Git-R Dun’ kind of Sheriff.

HE IS THE MARICOPA ARIZONA COUNTY SHERIFF
AND HE KEEPS GETTING ELECTED OVER AND OVER.
THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY:
Sheriff Joe Arpaio (in Arizona ) who created the ‘Tent City Jail’:
**He has jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them.
**He stopped smoking and porno magazines in the jails. **Took away their weights.**Cut off all but ‘G’ movies.
**He started chain gangs so the inmates could do free work on county and city projects.
**Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn’t get sued for discrimination.**He took away cable TV until he found out there was a federal court order that required cable TV for jails, so he hooked up the cable TV again…..BUT only let in the Disney channel and the Weather channel..
**When asked why the weather channel, he replied, “So they will know how hot it’s gonna be while they are working on my chain gangs.”
**He cut off coffee since it has zero nutritional value.
**When the inmates complained, he told them, “This isn’t The Ritz/Carlton…… If you don’t like it, don’t come back.”

With temperatures being even hotter than usual in Phoenix (116 degrees just set a new record), the Associated Press reports:
About 2,000 inmates living in a barbed-wire-surrounded tent encampment at the Maricopa County jail have been given permission to strip down to their government-issued pink boxer shorts.On Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing boxers were either curled up on their bunk beds or chatted in the tents, which reached 138 degrees inside the week before.
Many were also swathed in wet, pink towels as sweat collected on their chests and dripped down to their PINK SOCKS.
“It feels like we are in a furnace,” said James Zanzot, an inmate who has lived in the TENTS for 1 year. “It’s inhumane.”
Joe Arpaio, the tough-guy sheriff who created the tent city and long ago started making his prisoners wear pink and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic.. He said Wednesday that he told all of the inmates, “It’s 120 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents too, and they have to wear full battle gear, but they didn’t commit any crimes, so shut your mouths!”

Maybe if all prisons were like this one there would be a lot less crime and/or repeat offenders.
Criminals should be punished for their crimes!
At the moment here, Crooks live in luxury until it’s time for their parole. When they get out and commit another crime, they end up back inside only to live on taxpayers’ money and enjoy things taxpayers can’t afford to have for themselves!
Thanks for helping to educate others on the “Best Damned Sheriff in Town”. I live far from Maricopa County, but am very aware of the good that Sheriff Joe does. I have a sister and her kids living there, and appreciate that he keeps things just a bit safer for them.
He has many detractors, but when one sees how shallow these people are, it is understandable that they’d be so ignorant.

Nuf Sed, you will get no argument from me on Joe certanly, wish we had him here it would make a big difference to what we have with Club Med style accomidation for the scum of the earth.
Sheriff Joe you are a legend! We need someone just like him here in Australia, totally agree Noel we do have Club Med sytle prison system, and as we saw recently on the media they walk out when they want no questions asked!
Don’t you just love Joe, would’nt be a dream to have him out here as director for all prisons Sonia.
I agree we need JOE. You should forward this Sherrif Joe article to the Herald Sun editorial section – should be of interest to them considering the current interest in crime/justice system. Worth also forwarding to Attorney General Rob Hulls – as a good idea to introduce some decent rehabilitation although he’l probably scoff at it.

Carmel it would be a great waste of time to send to those two bleeding hearts, they would say he a very cruel man our Joe, anything that in the interest of victims is a bad thing, and anything nasty to deviates is very, very wrong.
Carmel you have the right idea “awareness” its something all victims of crime should be fighting for. Expose the injustice over and over again ( media flooding)! Change is a must for our future from the victims of crime support to the judicial system to the prison system it all needs a total revamp! Piss off the current system and lets ship Joe in!!! God knows we really could do with 100 of him here!
We must contact the media by mail about unjust sentencing, tell family, freinds, and work mates, remmber it is the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.
Noel there is a fairly large group of caring people like yourself all fight for the same cause Justice for the victims, what can we do to bring us all together? I have many members wanting to make a diffrence but I have no idea how we can all become one stronger louder voice? Can you give some me some ideas please..

Noel, I have lived in Phx, AZ for a good many years. I have never
been so impressed with Sheriff Joe’s ideas, he so reminds me of my
grandfather. Although my grandfather was from the “old days” (as
he says!), I do get the feeling of more security here in Az. I’m also tickled, impressed, and happy by his “revisions”. I have and will vote for him, as long as he keeps up the good work, which I’m sure he will!! Maybe he should go work at the Whitehouse, wouldn’t that be sweet?! Thx. God Bless!!
Hi Michelle, We just love him over here in Victoria, Australia, the deviates over here stay in Clubmed style accomadation and I have to say it an absolute disgrace, so we have run all the information we can get on Joe “my hero” on our website and news letters that jail means jail, not a life of leisure by the pool.
Your a murderer, a rapist, a violent criminal you have to pay your debt to society. However the bleeding heart for criminals in our Government don’t see it that way, while the community at large here see it as very wrong, they are up for election in November, so we will probably be head hunting Joe, thanks very much for you post.
you know what else lovely joe does? he bills the inmates for their time in jail and then when they cant pay they get sent back to jail for non-payment…. then they get billed for their time in jail and then when they cant pay… you get the idea… lets be clear… joe is a shyster and a criminal in a uniform who is profiting quite healthily through the subsidies received for the care of prisoners… and anyone who thinks joe is doing society (thats who the justice system is supposed to benefit in case youve forgotten – its not supposed to be just about revenge) any favours is a dumbarse of the first order… come to think of it, noel, if you acted out your charles bronson type revenge fantasies in joes neck of the woods YOU would never get out of jail… in fact if you had a traffic issue you might never get out of jail… so worship him as much as you like … hes a creep and youre a dumbarse… good day to you sir. ps please dont ever go into politics noel… it would be a truly sad day for this country, the western world, and thinking people everywhere if a sad, bloody-minded old git like yourself ever got a shred of actual power
